HOW ARE WE DOING?
As Governors we are passionate about what we do and welcome feedback and suggestions from parents, pupils, staff and the community to guide us. We shall maintain close links with the school community to help the school continue to be successful.
Parents are invited to access the school web site via “Governors” to obtain further information about who we are and the meetings held recently.
If anybody is interested in becoming a Governor please contact the school office.
During the Summer, as planned, we have:
- Continued to maintain a close and continuous oversight of school improvements, curriculum development, implementation and impact. Excellent presentations to Governors were also provided by Nicole Wilkinson (Reading) and Louise Bunting (Curriculum).
- Undertaken as planned, specific reviews in school with regards to Attendance Management, Pupil and Sports Premium, Equality and Inclusion and SATs observations.
In addition to the above, on the 4th July, 7 Governors undertook a Governor visit day. This supported Governor development and also provided an excellent opportunity for them to talk to parents and pupils, and to walk around the school observing lessons. Feedback from Governors included.
- Pupils throughout the day were articulate, engaged, unphased and able to talk about what they were learning and doing.
- Pupil behaviour was good overall and pupils were polite.
- Pupils felt "safe at school" and recognised the needs of others.
- Teaching was interactive.
All the above reviews have confirmed that the school continues to provide a positive and nurturing environment for pupils as well as adhering to mandatory external requirements.
Please note the next update will at the end of the Autumn Term.
